Climate Project: Safe Water (Uganda)

Safe Water Uganda

What It Does:
This Gold Standard-certified project rehabilitates and maintains boreholes to provide clean and safe water to communities in northern and eastern Uganda. By reducing the need to boil water with firewood, the project helps preserve forests and lower CO₂ emissions.

Environmental Impact:
✅ Reduces CO₂ emissions by eliminating the need to burn wood for boiling water.
✅ Preserves forests by reducing deforestation for firewood collection.

Social Impact:
✅ Provides over 90,000 people with access to clean water, reducing waterborne diseases.
✅ Saves time for women and children, allowing for better access to education and income-generating activities.
