Sustainability is embedded in the DNA of ClimateHero. Our mission and strategy are fully oriented towards addressing the climate crisis (SDG 13 - "Climate Action"). This means that climate impact and business aspects are equally weighted, and are present in all decisions made, and in the strategic goals we pursue.
ClimateHero's work in solving the climate crisis also has an indirect positive impact on several other global sustainability goals (SDGs), especially:
- SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
- SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
- SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
- SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 15 - Life on Land
To illustrate, individuals are presented with suggestions for making lifestyle changes to reduce their carbon footprint. These recommendations can serve a dual purpose, promoting better health by, for instance, reducing red meat consumption, and contributing to sustainable consumption practices such as repairing and maintaining items rather than buying new ones.
In addition to engaging individuals and businesses in the climate transition, ClimateHero works to monitor and minimize the environmental impact of our own operations. For instance, this includes primarily purchasing second hand IT equipment and having a strict travel policy that does not allow air travel. (Read more in ClimateHero's climate report below).
Our sustainability efforts follow ISO 26000, which guides companies to expand their societal responsibility and maximize their contribution to sustainable development. Our self-declaration is published annually, SIS/TS 2:2021 to SS-EN ISO 26000:2021, and verified by an independent party (see links below).
ClimateHero's guiding principles for social, environmental, and economic sustainability are further described in our Code of Conduct (see link below).
